UPDATE (4/9/24):  Pineview Mayor Brandon Holt has been suspended by executive order of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp following his indictment on theft charges.

Kemp issued the order on Tuesday as a result of Holt being charged with multiple felony counts of theft by taking on March 11.

The indictment was reviewed by a commission appointed by the governor, which found that the charges adversely affect the public’s interest and the administration of the mayor’s office.

Holt will remain suspended until the case is resolved or his term expires.

This decision follows Holt’s January arrest. He faces 75 counts of theft by taking after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was asked by Wilcox County Sheriff Steve Mauldin and District Attorney Brad Rigby to investigate allegations of misused city funds.
