UPDATE: 15-year-old killed in Macon shooting
The teen was pronounced dead at the scene in the 600 block of Grosso Avenue.

UPDATE (9/19/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office identified the teen killed in a shooting Friday as LaKendrick Jamari Banks.
In a correction sent Saturday morning, deputies said he was 15.
ORIGINAL STORY (9/18/26):
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 16-year-old was found shot to death Friday afternoon on Grosso Avenue.
According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 5 p.m. to a report of an unconscious male teen who had been shot.
Deputy Coroner Luann Stone pronounced the teen dead at the scene. The teen has not been identified, and the shooting remains under investigation.
