Wrightsville Water Contamination Under Control

Wrightsville residents can breather easier, now that officials say they’ve gotten the water contamination scare resolved.

“I was kind of afraid to drink it until I boil it,” said Mattie Hudson of Wrightsville.

The 80-year-old Hudson grew up in Wrightsville. She is one of hundreds worried about the water in the JohnsonCounty town after test results revealed dangerous bacteria on Wednesday.

“On our repeat samples as of this week, we had four, and they came back positive for E. coli and fecal,” said Charles Blackburn, Wrightsville Superintendent of Streets and Water.
