Wrightsville woman charged with 10 counts of child molestation
Jennifer Hernandez was arrested in Waycross and charged with 10 counts of child molestation tied to incidents from 2022.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Wrightsville woman is facing 10 counts of child molestation after authorities arrested her last week in Waycross on a warrant issued out of Johnson County, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
37-year-old Jennifer Hernandez was taken into custody by the Ware County Sheriff’s Office on May 21 in connection to a felony arrest warrant stemming from a Johnson County investigation. She is currently being held at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office – Danny Elbert Detention Center.
The charges against Hernandez are tied to incidents deputies say happened between June and September 2022. The sheriff’s office said Hernandez made contact with a then 9-year-old victim and “would touch the victim in a sexual manner,” according to the release.
The investigation began on April 4 when Johnson County deputies received initial information about the allegations. Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division spent the past month collecting evidence before obtaining the warrant.
“I hope this arrest sends a loud and clear message: the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has a ZERO-tolerance policy for exploitation of children,” Sheriff Greg Rowland said. “We will continue to work diligently to stop these predators. Johnson County is a great community and we will work relentlessly to ensure that it remains a safe place for our children.
The sheriff’s office thanked the Ware County and Pierce County Sheriff’s Offices for helping with the investigation and arrest.
The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Troy Fallin at (478) 864-4003.
