Woman dies after being struck by vehicle on Mercer University Drive, investigation underway

A 67-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night on Mercer University Drive.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 67-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night on Mercer University Drive.

A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release says it happened just after 8:30 at Mercer University Drive’s intersection with Bloomfield Road.

Deputies say the woman was crossing Mercer University Drive when she was struck by a Mercedes C320, driven by a 19-year-old man. The woman, who has not been identified yet, was taken to Atrium Health Navicent and pronounced dead by staff.
