Windy and sunny to end the work week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunshine is returning after storms Thursday night, however plenty of wind has been left in their wake as well.
The Rest of the Evening
Strong winds will remain with Middle Georgia as partly cloudy skies slowly clear through the evening. Those winds will remain out of the west-southwest at about 10-25 mph, gusting as high as 40 mph until after sunset. After sunset gusts could still reach over 30 mph at times from the west. It will be a cooler night as conditions dry out in the wake of last night’s cold front. Lows will be in the low to mid 40s, and wind chills could be in the upper 40s by tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow
Sunny skies will stay with Middle Georgia all day as temperatures peak in the lower 70s, a few degrees below average for this time of year. Winds will come from the west-northwest at 10-20 mph, gusting as high as 35 mph in the afternoon. The UV Index is expected to be around a 7 during the afternoon, so sunblock would be a good idea for anyone spending ample time outdoors.
Overnight skies will be clear as winds finally begin to die down. Gusts of up to 20 mph will remain possible until after midnight, but by Saturday morning they should be in the 10-15 mph range. Low temperatures will reach their overall valley for the period in the mid to upper 40s ahead of the sunrise Saturday.
This Weekend
Skies will stay sunny as temperatures climb. Saturday will see highs in the mid to upper 70s with Sunday seeing highs into the mid 80s. This warming trend will continue into next week.
