Widespread rain chances expected for second consecutive weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Scattered storms are likely both Saturday and Sunday as temperatures stay relatively cool.
This Evening
It’s been a mostly cloudy end to the week with a few spotty showers this afternoon. A few more showers and perhaps some storms will be possible through the evening and into tonight. The overnight hours will be partly cloudy, allowing for some viewing of the Full Sturgeon Moon. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s accompanied by light wind from the northeast.
Tomorrow
Conditions should lean mostly cloudy for Saturday, however early on some sunshine is likely around the region. Highs will climb into the mid 80s for most of the region. Wind will flow from the east-northeast at 5-12 mph.
Storm odds will climb into the afternoon, peaking over the late afternoon and evening hours. Severe weather is not expected though the strongest storms could have respectable wind gusts.
Overnight conditions will stay mostly cloudy with a few showers or storms lingering early. Fog will be possible leading up to Sunday morning with lows largely expected in the lower 70s. A few upper 60s will remain possible.
Sunday and Beyond
Rain odds will likely be even higher over the afternoon and evening hours Sunday with skies staying mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the mid 80s across the region once again as wind continues from the east-northeast. Heading into next week temperatures will stay in the mid 80s with scattered afternoon and evening storms. A warming trend is expected, however, and by the end of next week the 90s should return as wind shifts back towards the southwest, or the norm for this time of year.
Watching the Tropics
Both areas of development remain however the odds for both have dropped. The one off the US East Coast is down to 10% odds for development in the next 7 days with the one further east showing odds of 40% to develop in the next 7 days.
