Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office offers security checks for residents

ALAMO, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Wheeler County residents can travel worry-free this holiday season, thanks to the sheriff’s new security check program.

Sheriff Maurice Johnson tells 41NBC, homes are more likely to get broken into when people are known to be away.  He wanted to offer his residents extra security.

If a resident fills out a “Private Property Concentrated Patrol Report,” the Sheriff’s Office promises to have deputies patrol that residence during the holiday season.  Sheriff Johnson says his deputies will try to check on the homes three or four times a day.
