Westside Seminoles want to forget last season’s disappointing first round loss

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Westside Seminoles head into the seventh season under head coach Shedrick Risper; a team that managed to end their season with a 9-2 record before suffering a disappointing playoff loss in the first round to Dodge County.

Last season’s offense was able to put up a lot of points, 34.2 per game to be exact, en route to an 8-0 start to their 2014 campaign. However, 2015 will need to see the Seminoles replace their quarterback. Six starters will be returning to that squad, including RB Donte Pate, WR Gerimie Mitchell, and highly recruited WR Steve Dolphus.

Six starters will also be back for the defense. That includes DE Abdul Davis, who Coach Risper calls his spark plug, as well as seniors Kareem Warren and Brannan Nestbitt. Westside will also have help from middle linebacker Tredonis Cousey.

The Seminoles will begin their Region 2 AAA play against Rutland on August 28th at the Ed Defore Sports Complex.
