Wesleyan women partner with Rebuilding Macon to renovate homes

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Women of Wesleyan College joined nearly 175 volunteers to spruce-up homes across Macon Saturday.

Raking, painting, scraping and landscaping were just a few of the jobs for Wesleyan College students on the outside of a Tucker Road home known as the college’s Solomon House.

Students also joined volunteers to renovate four other homes.

Wesleyan graduate Jill Amos is now a spokesperson for the college and says the students partnering with Rebuilding Macon shows their support for the community.

“I am so proud to see our women of Wesleyan involved in this opportunity today, as well as all the participants that gave up their time,” says Amos, the current Director of Service and Learning for the Wesleyan College Lane Center.

Other volunteers working during the renovations were from middle Georgia churches and non-profit organizations.
