Weather Forecast for May 5th, 2014

Temperatures have run almost 10 degrees above normal, at least for the afternoon.  Overnight/morning lows have been seasonable.  With high pressure continuing to hang around to the west of us, we’ll continue to see abundant sunshine in the area.  Temperatures will remain far warmer than average, hitting the 90s multiple days this week.

The next chance for rain will be this weekend, which coincides with Mother’s Day.  However, models show low amount of rainfall with this new system, so we’re not forecasting a washout as of right now.  The question we’re wondering — besides the Mother’s Day forecast — is how long the rain will last since there is disagreement amongst the models as to how many days next week we will see rainfall.  Because of that, we’re keeping a chance of rain for Monday, but the higher chance will be Sunday.  Saturday rainfall may arrive late in the day if the models continue on track.
