One dead, one injured after crash on Fall Line Freeway in Washington County

Deputies say the vehicle overturned several times near Memorial Gardens Cemetery, killing passenger Samantha Zimerla of Harrison and injuring the driver.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One woman died and another was injured after a vehicle overturned several times Sunday on Fall Line Freeway.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, deputies received a 911 call around 5:16 p.m. about a crash near Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Deputies arrived to find a single-car accident.

Investigators believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn multiple times. The passenger, 51-year-old Samantha Zimerla of Harrison, was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries.

The driver, 34-year-old Lauren Hendricks of Sandersville, was taken to Washington County Medical Center. There’s no update on her condition.
