WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Warner Robins released new renderings for the redevelopment of Commercial Circle on Monday, marking a major step in its downtown revitalization efforts dubbed “Operation Reawaken.”

The designs, created in partnership with the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG), show the area transformed into a modern, pedestrian-friendly district that blends residential, commercial and recreational spaces.

“The transformation of Commercial Circle is a vital step in our commitment to revitalizing Downtown Warner Robins,” Mayor LaRhonda W. Patrick said in a news release Monday. “These renderings reflect our dedication to smart urban planning, economic growth, and creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly, live, work, place area for our residents and businesses. By strategically partnering with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, we are able to achieve innovative insight while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars. I encourage our community to engage in this process, share their feedback, and be a part of shaping the future of our city.”

The city’s website lists several key features, including green spaces, mixed-use development and improved walkability. A major addition is a new plaza with an aesthetic stormwater amenity in the Northeastern Quadrant, designed to improve both sustainability and community engagement, according to the website. Market Street, known for its radial layout, will be preserved and transformed into “a vibrant ‘Main Street’ that balances commercial and residential opportunities while prioritizing walkability,” while the Southeastern Quadrant will integrate commercial and residential spaces within the historic circular design of Commercial Circle.

City officials say community feedback will play a critical role in shaping the final vision. Residents are encouraged to view the renderings and submit their input through the city’s official website at www.wrga.gov.

The redevelopment is part of Warner Robins’ broader revitalization efforts under “Operation Reawaken,” which has included demolition, environmental cleanup and infrastructure improvements. The city says these changes will support local businesses, attract new investment and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
