Warner Robins Salvation Army Faces Food Shortage
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — With the holidays comes great food, laughter, and family time.
But for the Salvation Army in Warner Robins, it’s been tougher than ever this year to provide for needy families.
With the downturn in the economy recently, the shelter has seen a food shortage.
It’s so bad, it’s preventing Captain Pam Perry and her coworkers from giving to others as much as they’d like.
“The economy creates a greater demand for food from our food pantries and at the same time has a paradoxical effect of pulling back on the supply a little bit because when things get tight economically, then fear kind of ensues and people get this mentality that I have to hold on to everything because I don’t know if I’m going to have a job next month,” said Perry.
To give to the Salvation Army, you can drop off food or other supplies at their office in Warner Robins, which is located at 96 Thomas Boulevard, just off North Davis Drive.
