Warner Robins Police offers registration for police academy

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Warner Robins Police Department has opened registration for its 2016 Citizen Police Academy.

It’s a chance to learn what it’s like to be a police officer.

Participants will learn about several areas of law enforcement such as the hiring process, investigation divisions, SWAT team, use of force and guns.

You can experience some of the training that comes with police work and ride with patrol officers on duty.

You don’t have to be a citizen of Warner Robins to be in the academy.

The Academy will be on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning February 11th February and continuing through April 28th.

The Warner Robins Police Department Training Center located at 212 Stalnaker Avenue in Warner Robins will host the event.

The classes are free.
