WRPD: 23-year-old woman found dead, boyfriend charged
A homicide investigation is underway after the discovery of 23-year-old Michaela Chaney's body Saturday.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A homicide investigation is underway after the discovery of 23-year-old Michaela Chaney’s body Saturday.
The Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) says it has taken Jayveon Bivins, also 23, into custody in connection with Chaney’s death.
A WRPD news release said the investigation began Saturday when a WRPD patrol unit found an abandoned vehicle in the 700 block of Russell Parkway at 8:24 a.m. Officers say the discovery was suspicious, and efforts were made to reach the vehicle’s registered owner.
About an hour later, officers met with Chaney’s mother at Pacific Park Apartments, where Chaney lived.
Police say they entered Chaney’s apartment and found evidence of a struggle but no sign of Chaney.
A news release update later in the day revealed officers had found Chaney’s body.
According to police, Bivins, identified as Chaney’s boyfriend, had been cooperating with the ongoing investigation but “probable cause existed” for him to charged in connection with Chaney’s death. Police did not reveal specific charges or where Chaney’s body was located.
