WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Warner Robins and No Limit Baptist Church are teaming up again to provide shelter for the homeless during freezing temperatures.

The “Food in the Valley Ministry” will offer shelter, hot meals and comfort to those in need when temperatures drop below 32 degrees, according to a city news release.

For the second year, the warming shelter will operate at No Limit Baptist Church, located at 1352 Radio Loop in Warner Robins. It will open from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., with intake available for one hour after doors open. The shelter will be open nightly from Friday, November 29 through Tuesday, December 3.

“In moments of extreme cold, our faith calls us to act with love and compassion,” Pastor Harrington of No Limit Baptist Church said. “Through the ‘Food in the Valley Ministry,’ we strive to ensure every individual has a warm place to escape the harsh elements. Partnering with the City of Warner Robins allows us to serve our neighbors in a greater capacity, showing that together, we can bring hope and safety to those most vulnerable.”

The city will provide shuttle services each day, beginning at 6 p.m., to take people in need to the shelter. Brian Wise will coordinate transportation. Residents can call or text Wise at (478) 538-5115 or Pastor Harrington at (786) 286-4457 to request assistance.

“Together, we are making a lasting impact, proving that no one in our city is forgotten, especially on the coldest nights,” mayor LaRhonda Patrick said said.

You can help make sure the operation is a success by volunteering or donating items, including bedding, hot meals, paper products, hygiene supplies and portable heaters. Monetary donations can be made by texting GIVE to (833) 979-3054 or via Cash App to $Nolimitshelter. Specific donations for the homeless can be earmarked by texting “GIVE [amount] HOMELESS” (e.g., GIVE $25 HOMELESS).

“Your generosity will make a significant impact on the success of this program, providing warmth, comfort, and a sense of security to those facing the harsh realities of homelessness during the coldest nights,” the release said.
