Warner Robins International City Festival returns September 12
The free festival will take place Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Perkins Field.
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Warner Robins is preparing to celebrate cultures from around the world with the return of the International City Festival.
The free festival will take place Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Perkins Field. The event will feature international food, cultural performances, shopping, music and family-friendly activities.
The festival’s Global Marketplace will include local artisans, creators, boutiques, authors and other vendors selling items such as handmade crafts, artwork, jewelry, clothing and specialty gifts.
Food trucks and vendors will offer a variety of international and specialty foods, including Caribbean and Cuban cuisine, Mexican food, Filipino-inspired flavors, barbecue, seafood, desserts and specialty drinks.
Live entertainment will take place throughout the day. Performances include Polynesian entertainment, Filipino cultural dancers, Irish dancing, mariachi music, Caribbean dancers, martial arts, pipes and drums and other cultural performances.
The scheduled lineup includes KapitBasig Filipino Dancers, Mahealani’s Polynesian Entertainment, Drake Irish Dancing, Mariachi Arriba Guanajuato, Mercer University Pipes & Drums and Caribbean Dancers of Atlanta. Ritmo Soul Bunch is scheduled to close out the performances at 5 p.m.
Children can visit the Kids Zone for activities including a passport craft station, face painting, balloon twisting and the Global Beats Playground, where they can explore percussion instruments from around the world. The festival will also feature an ofrenda created by Community Culture & Arts.
People attending the festival should also plan for temporary traffic changes. Maple Street and Mulberry Street will be closed to through traffic during the event.
Parking will be available at the Happy Hour Training Center, Warner Robins City Hall, Middle Georgia State University, Robins Financial Credit Union and the Commercial Circle area. Handicap-accessible parking will be available at 800 Watson Boulevard, the former Recreation Center location.
Festival guidelines prohibit fireworks, drones, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, outside food and open drinks, large umbrellas and portable canopies or tents. Outdoor chairs, blankets, small personal umbrellas, sealed bottled water and well-behaved leashed dogs are among the items allowed.
Admission to the International City Festival is free.
