Warner Robins couple has first baby in Middle Georgia in 2016
Gabriel Mychael Bailey was born at the Medical Center, Navicent Health at 12:54 Friday morning. His parents say they weren’t expecting him for another week, but they’re happy he’s healthy.
“I feel like I won the lottery,” Gabriel’s mother Ebony Huffman said.
A jackpot for a young couple who originally went to the hospital for Ebony’s toothache.
“Instead of us coming, getting antibiotics for her mouth, we ended up in the delivery room,” Gabriel’s father, Theron Bailey, said.
The two were expecting their baby boy on January 8th, but little Gabriel was ready to arrive.
“That bundle of joy came early. I didn’t want anything else for Christmas, but a safe delivery and pretty much I got him a week early before the actual due date so that made it even more special,” Huffman said.
Not to mention the first baby of 2016.
“The only thing we could do is make some phone calls. ‘Hey y’all got come out here, we’re getting ready to deliver,” Bailey said.
At seven pounds, 8.3 ounces, and 20 inches long, Gabriel is here and healthy.
“We have a nice healthy, strong young man,” Bailey said.
A young man whose looks are up for grabs.
“He’s got my fat cheeks from when I was born. He looks pretty much just like me when I was born,” Bailey said while Huffman shook her head no.
While they have plenty of time to decide on who Gabriel looks like the most, both parents say they want him to grow up to be a good person.
“That he would just really inspire and impact the world in a great way and just show everybody the love of God and just be encouraging to others,” Huffman said.
The next baby born in Middle Georgia was at Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins ten minutes later.
