Warner Robins Council Reinstates City Attorney Jim Elliott
Warner Robins city council members voted unanimously today to reinstate Jim Elliott as city attorney for another year. Council members said the change is what was needed for the city to come together.
The city council’s decision today reverses a vote from Monday night in which members voted 4-2 to not renew Elliot’s contract with the city. Several council members and Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen were surprised by that decision.
A large crowd waited this morning for Warner Robins city council members to finish their discussion in closed session.
Many of them told 41 NBC reporter Kyle Warnke they showed up to let council members they were “outraged” over the council’s decision to fire city attorney Jim Elliott. They also accused council members of unfairly making decisions.
