Warner Robins Church Members Break Ground for New Church Home
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – The Christ Redeemer Anglican Church on Highway 41 went from worshipping inside a member’s garage to preparing blueprints for the beginning of what members believe will jump start their future.
Members broke ground for their new 4,000 square foot chapel, which will seat up to 150 people.
“We started off at a holiday inn here in town, and we’ve been searching for a place…” Priest Paul Gerlock says, “We had a number of people who helped us finance it. It’s all paid for.”
The congregation held a fish fry, and other fundraisers to raise money to build the church, making sure they move-in debt free.
Senior Warden, Clyde Wilkins says the preparation for a new building started in 2007, and it took “a lot of hard work, a lot of faith and a lot of giving.”
The plans to begin building start next week.
Church leaders say this opportunity will help their ministry outreach, and prepare for membership growth.
