Warner Robins Mayor welcomes championship game

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia – Fans of the Warner Robins Demons will now get to cheer on their team next weekend at home during the state championship game.

“I’m excited for Warner Robins to play in Warner Robins. I think they certainly will have the home field advantage to include an awesome crowd,” says Mayor Randy Toms.

The Georgia High School Association postponed Friday’s 5A and 6A state championship games scheduled for 4:30pm and 8pm at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The games were cancelled due to the blast of winter weather in metro Atlanta.

A coin flip determined Warner Robins will host the game next weekend against Rome.

“We welcome fans from Rome to come down and enjoy the amenities of our city. We hope they leave with Warner Robins being state champions,” says Toms.

The GHSA says purchased tickets will be honored at next weekend’s game.
