Warner Robins Celebrates Its Veterans With Wreath Laying

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — In a town that’s on the map for its military presence, Warner Robins airmen and other military members joined the community this morning at City Hall to commemorate the achievements of all those who served.

The colors of the United States shone brightly as the crowd gathered at the event.

“It makes me feel really good–it makes me feel honored that I served and I’m glad people recognize our service–that it was not all in vain and I’m just glad to be a veteran,” said William Lawson, a veteran.

Guest speaker Chief Master Sargeant Danny Johnson spoke as the crowd listened intently, while recalling its own memories of service.

After the crowd was dismissed, many people milled about.

Veterans there appreciated this effort to honor the sacrifices they made.

“This event gives you an opportunity to rekindle your patriotism, and to be aware of those honorable people who have gone on,” said Dan Callaway, another veteran.
