Warner Robins animal control takes in evacuated animals

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -Several counties in Georgia are under mandatory evacuation because of Hurricane Irma’s shift. One of those, is Chatham County and Warner Robins is doing it’s part to help.

Warner Robins Animal Control is taking in cats and dogs from Chatham. It has taken in 8 cats and 24 dogs.

Animal Control director, Greg Langston says providing a safe place for the animals is important to them. Langston says the animals are expected to stay as long as the Chatham County needs them to.

“A lot of times when they evacuate, they think about the humans getting on out of there and kind of forget about the animals,” said Langston. “So we’re here to help.”
