Warm, sunny, and still breezy Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Winds will still be breezy but begin to slow Thursday as Tropical Storm Alberto moves inland into Mexico.
This Evening
Partly cloudy skies will stay with Middle Georgia through sunset and into tonight. Ambient winds have been strong, and gusts will likely remain over 20 mph through sunset as well. While rain is possible, those odds will most likely be reserved for the southeasternmost counties of the region. Following sunset skies will be mostly clear as temperatures drop into the mid to upper 60s. Wind gusts could still reach over 15 mph throughout the night, generally out of the east.
Tomorrow
Thursday should be mostly sunny around Middle Georgia with ambient wind out of the east-northeast coming in at 10-15 mph. Gusts should reach over 20 mph in the afternoon for the 3rd day in a row. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s and rain will be hard to come by as high pressure camps just off to the north.
Overnight skies will be clear with low temperatures expected in the mid to upper 60s again. Winds will generally be out of the east at around 5-10 mph.
Friday and Beyond
Rain chances will begin to uptick Friday afternoon as a mass of tropical moisture inches closer from the southeast. While this area of activity is not likely to organize into anything significant, it will uptick rain chances into the weekend, especially for the southeastern parts of the state. Rain odds will remain elevated into next week as temperatures climb back into the upper 90s, well above average for late June. Skies should be partly cloudy for the most part beginning this weekend and going forward to accompany the aforementioned conditions.
