Voting Precincts in Juliette to Remain Open Following Public Outcry

JULIETTE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Voters in Juliette will not have to travel to Gray to cast their ballot after all.

The Board of commissioners has abandoned its plans to close the White and Sanders precincts in Juliette.
That’s according to elections superintendent Marion Hatton, the person who proposed closing them.

She claims the closures would have helped the county save about $600 per election. She also says only about five faithful voters show up in Juliette during local elections.

But residents there were adamant about keeping those precincts open, saying the change would be hard on them financially.
