UPDATE: Missing Warner Robins man found safe

UPDATE: (7:30 p.m.) – According to a Facebook post by the Warner Robins Police Department, Derwin Lawson has been located and is safe.

UPDATE: Warner Robins Police say Derwin Lawson is “developmentally challenged” and has a “diminished mental  capacity.”

According to an updated post on the police department’s Facebook page, he is afraid of loud noises and people in uniforms.

“He also has an AirTag in his shoe and has been placed into lost,” the update said. “People in the area of this AirTag may receive a message for the lost AirTag.”


WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins police are asking for help finding a 41-year-old man who went missing Wednesday morning.

According to a post from the Warner Robins Police Department, Derwin Lawson was last seen leaving 1701 Elberta Rd. on foot around 8 a.m., walking toward Carl Vinson Parkway. Police say Lawson is 5-foot-2, weighs 170 pounds, and was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, white socks and gray shoes.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office shared in a post that Lawson, also known as Derwin “Eric” Lawson, has a developmental delay and the mental capacity of a two-year-old.

Police say he does not have a cell phone or access to a vehicle.
