UPDATE: Train-SUV collision victim dies, according to Macon-Bibb Coroner

UPDATE (11/18/24): Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says Cheryl Rawls died on Sunday, two days after her vehicle was struck by a train.
According to Jones, she was pronounced dead at 11:07 a.m.
UPDATE (11/15/24 – 10:08 p.m.): – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman injured in Friday’s collision as Cheryl Rawls of Macon. Deputies say she’s still listed in critical condition.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 76-year-old woman is in critical condition at the hospital after a train collided with an SUV Friday afternoon.
It happened just after 2:30 on Tucker Road near Forsyth Road, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies say they arrived and found the vehicle had been struck by a train. Witnesses said the train crossing gate came down on the vehicle, and the driver was not able to get clear from the train’s path.
