UPDATE: Suspects in Eastman armed robbery also charged in Lumber City homicide
Investigators say a clerk was forced behind the counter at gunpoint during the August 13 robbery.

UPDATE (9/4/25): The two suspects arrested in last month’s armed robbery at the Hop In store now face additional charges in connection with a homicide in Lumber City.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), 21-year-old David Walker of Hawkinsville 19-year-old and Sharonda Guyton were charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the shooting death of Dwayne Clark.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people face charges in connection with an armed robbery at the Hop In store in Eastman last month.
According to a news release from Eastman Police, the robbery happened around 1 a.m. on August 13. Police say a man pulled a gun on a store clerk and forced him behind the counter. The man then made the clerk hand over all the cash.
Through an investigation with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), officers arrested David Walker. He is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and false imprisonment.
Police said officers also arrested Sharonda Guyton. She is charged with armed robbery and false statements and writings.
