UPDATE: Suspect wanted in missing Cobb County couple investigation turns himself in

MCRAE-HELENA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Wanted suspect Ronnie “Jay” Adrian Towns has turned himself into the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.

Towns was taken into custody around 11:30 Monday morning.

MCRAE-HELENA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Telfair County deputies are looking for a suspect who has been giving false statements about the missing Cobb County couple.

Deputies have warrants for 28-year-old Ronnie “Jay” Adrian Towns. The warrants are for theft by deception and facetious comments.

According to investigators, 69-year-old Elrey “Bud” Runion and his wife 66-year-old June have been missing since January 22.

The couple was planning a trip to McRae-Helena to purchase a vehicle and were to return that night. Family members tell us they did not return home and they didn’t hear from the couple. Cobb County detectives say the couple was driving a pewter/champagne color 2003 GMC Envoy with Georgia tag BWU7349.

Elrey Runion is a white male around 5’7″. He weighs 165 pounds and is bald with grey hair and blue eyes. June is a white female with brown hair and green eyes. She’s 5’5″ and weighs 135 pounds.
