UPDATE: Second suspect arrested in deadly east Macon shooting

Davian Nayshuan Forney was arrested in Milledgeville and extradited to Bibb County. He is charged with murder and aggravated assault.

UPDATE (4/23/25):  A second person is now in custody in connection with the death of 23-year-old Dontavious Ryshaun Holsey in September of last year.

The US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took  20-year-old Davian Nayshuan Forney of Macon to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center after he was arrested on April 22, according to Bibb County deputies.

The task force, with the assistance of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, located Forney at a home in Milledgeville after receiving a CrimeStoppers tip. Forney was taken into custody and extradited to Bibb County.

Forney is charged with murder and aggravated assault. He is being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.


UPDATE (11/26/24): Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, with assistance of Jones County deputies, located and 18-year-old Devin DeLoach in connection with 23-year-old Dontavious Ryshaun Holsey’s death on September 30.

DeLoach is being held in the Bibb County Jail. He’s charged with murder.

UPDATE (10/1/24 – 12 a.m.): Deputies identified the 23-year-old who died Monday night as Dontavious Ryshaun Holsey of Milledgeville.


ORIGINAL STORY (9/30/24 – 8:55 p.m.):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a 23-year-old man is dead and a 17-year-old boy is in the hospital after both were shot Monday night.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies responded to Wallace Road near the intersection of Johnson Street just before 7:30. That’s off Jeffersonville Road in East Macon.

Paramedics arrived and took both victims to the hospital. The 23-year-old died at the hospital. The 17-year-old is in stable condition.
