UPDATE: Second arrest made in Florence Avenue death investigation
Malik Mikeal Jenkins is the second person arrested in the case.

UPDATE (3/2/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a second arrest has been made in connection with a death investigation on Florence Avenue.
According to a news release sent by the sheriff’s office on Monday, deputies and U.S. Marshals arrested 29-year-old Malik Mikeal Jenkins of Macon into custody on Friday. The release says Jenkins, who was wanted, was spotted at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Ell Street while driving a U-Haul. Deputies stopped the vehicle and took him in for questioning.
Jenkins was later taken to the Bibb County Jail where he was referred out to a medical facility for a pre-existing medical condition, the release said.
On Monday, he was taken back to the Bibb County Jail. He’s charged with murder and is being held without bond.
UPDATE (2/27/26): A man has been arrested in connection with a death investigation on Florence Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
31-year-old Jeremi Devontrey Hill of Macon was taken into custody at a residence in Americus at 9:11 a.m. February 27. He was wanted in connection with the February 21, 2026, death of Shaviz Adams.
Authorities said Hill was transported to Bibb County and taken to the Criminal Investigation Division before being booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Hill has been charged with murder and is being held without bond.

Sheriff David Davis released the following statement:
“With the arrest of Jeremi Hill, someone has been held to account for each one of the senseless murders this week. We have been relentless in our efforts to bring justice for each of these victims. To be clear, guns should never be used to settle petty arguments. But when they are, we will be coming for you.”
UPDATE (2/22/26): Deputies say a man shot on Florence Avenue Saturday night has died.
In an updated news release, deputies identified the man as Shaviz Adams.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot Saturday night on Florence Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting was reported to Macon-Bibb E-911 at 6:57 p.m. in the 1500 block of Florence Avenue.
Deputies found the man with a gunshot wound. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment.
