UPDATE (7/24 – 4:15 p.m.) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says remains found Wednesday in a wooded area in Monroe County are “believed to be that of missing person Gabriella Dixon.”

According to a news release, the remains have been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab for positive identification.

A person of interest, 19-year-old Jatarvius Deangelo Price, was arrested on Wednesday at a home in Monroe County during the execution of an arrest warrant in connection with the investigation.

Dixon was reported missing on October 31, 2023. Price was arrested on November 17, 2023 and charged with making false statements and tampering with evidence. He made bond the following day.

He was taken to the Bibb County Jail on Wednesday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Warrants were served for Reginald Harris, the father of Dixon’s children, at the Bibb County Jail for Dixon’s murder. In November 2023, Harris was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and battery – family violence.

41NBC reached out to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Clay Williams following Harris’ November arrest to ask if the arrest was made in connection with Dixon’s disappearance. Williams would only say Harris was arrested on outstanding warrants but did confirm it’s the same Reginald Harris listed in the original missing person police report.

The police report narrative revealed Dixon’s mother, Gabrella Searcy, had not been able to reach her daughter and that Harris was acting “very suspicious,” according to Searcy.

The report noted Harris had brought the children to Searcy’s home on October 30 and that the 2-year-old said, “Momma was in blood.”

“The older grandchild told the 2-year-old that, ‘It was okay, Momma is sleeping,'” the narrative stated.
