UPDATE: One dead, one injured in West Macon apartment shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal drive by shooting at the Macon Garden Apartments located on Mercer University Drive.

According Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, two people were shot.

The Bibb Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Tavarous Veal and 23-year-old Terry Brown were on the front porch of building #20 when a white SUV pulled into the parking lot. Authorities say people inside the vehicle shot at the two men and then drove away from the scene.

Veal was shot in the left shoulder area. He died at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

Brown was shot in his legs. He is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle is possibly a white Ford Expedition or Explorer. The sheriff’s office tells 41NBC there were three to four men inside. No other description is available.
