UPDATE: Missing 12-year-old Tamia Owens found safe

UPDATE (1/1/25): The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Tamia Owens has been found safe.

No further updates were provided.

In a social media post Wednesday morning, Dodge County Sheriff Brian Robinson said no other details can be given “due to further investigations!”

“A detailed statement will be given after the investigation!” he wrote.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for 12-year-old Tamia Owens, who went missing from her home on Deborah Lane in Eastman around 8:30 a.m. Monday, December 30.

Tamia was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt, pink shorts and socks and a black jacket. She is described as 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 90 pounds, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

“The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office would like for everyone to be on the lookout for this young lady,” Sheriff Brian Robinson said in a social media post on Tuesday. “If anyone comes in contact or has any information, please call Dodge County 911.”

The search effort includes multiple agencies, including the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge County Fire, Eastman Fire, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Dodge EMA, Telfair EMA, as well as volunteers. According to the Dodge County Fire Department, as of Wednesday afternoon, the search focus was in the areas of WPA Road, Highway 46, South Carolina Avenue, Lovely Grove Church Road and Fred Bohannon Road.

The GBI issued a Missing Child Alert, asking for tips from the public.
