UPDATE: Sheriff’s office provides update on search for Michael Carroll

The sheriff's office provided an update Friday night.

UPDATE (10/23/26): 50-year-old Michael Jason Carroll was found dead in Stockbridge, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Anna Watkins confirmed to 41NBC Friday night.

Watkins said no additional information was available.

UPDATE (10/23/26): Deputies say Michael Carroll has been located.

The sheriff’s office provided an update Friday night:

“UPDATE: Michael Jason Carroll has been located. Unfortunately, the outcome was not what we had hoped for. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.”

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding 50-year-old Michael Jason Carroll.

According to the sheriff’s office, Carroll’s last known location was near Piedmont Henry Hospital around 2:41 a.m. Tuesday, October 20.

The sheriff’s office released a photo of Carroll on its Facebook page as well as an image of a red Kia Soul with Georgia license plate #SDY8539.
