A man is now in custody in connection with the shooting death of Calvin Thomas Hugley Jr. in August 2023.

UPDATE (1/19/24): A man is now in custody in connection with the shooting death of Calvin Thomas Hugley Jr. in August 2023.
A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release says investigators were able to connect 24-year-old Dequavia Pollard with Hugley’s death.
Pollard was taken into custody just before 2 p.m. Friday and was taken to the Bibb County Jail, where he’s being held without bond.
Pollard is charged with murder and six counts of aggravated assault.
Also Friday, deputies say they connected Pollard with the January 14 shooting death of Clifford Tyrone Browner. In that case, he’s charged with murder and criminal street gang activity.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Saturday morning shooting that left one dead and three others injured. Deputies responded to a shots fired call just after 3 a.m. in the 800 block of Woodard Avenue.
When they arrived on scene, they found a man unresponsive in the road. Investigators later identified the shooting victim as Calvin Hugley Jr. A deputy coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at a large gathering at a bootleg house. Several people had a disagreement, and gunfire was exchanged. Two females and one male were transported to the hospital with non-life- threatening injuries. They are listed in stable condition.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
