Update: Macon woman crushed by car

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident involving a car.

It happened at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 621 Foster Road.

According to the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Mary Wade of Macon drove off of the parking lot at the church onto a grassy area and got stuck.  

Wade and her friend, 18-year-old Murray Nixon of Macon, were in the car together.  Nixon was the passenger.  

They both attempted to get the vehicle out of the grass and mud.  

While attempting to move the vehicle, it rolled back onto Nixon.  

She was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones has notified the next of kin.  

The accident is still under investigation.  Anyone with information is urged to contact the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message for the “on-call” accident investigator.
