UPDATE: Second arrest made in New Year’s Day shooting at Macon gas station
Deputies say a 27-year-old man was found shot outside a Shell gas station Thursday afternoon. Two people now face charges.

UPDATE (1/2/26): Bibb County deputies say they’ve made a second arrest in connection with a deadly shooting Thursday at a gas station.
According to an update, 25-year-old Desmond Dewayne Hill was taken into custody at River Bend Apartments on Thursday, along with Malik Harris. Harris was originally charged with a December 23 homicide on Pio Nono Avenue, but deputies later said he was also charged with murder in Thursday’s shooting.
Deputies say an ambulance took Hill to the hospital after he received a gunshot wound “sustained during the Shell Gas Station incident.”
Hill is charged with murder.
UPDATE (1/1/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made in connection with a deadly shooting Thursday at a gas station.
According to deputies, 28-year-old Malik Harris is charged with murder. He was taken into custody Thursday in connection with an unrelated homicide. Deputies say he’s also charged with murder in the death of Travon Maurice Harden on Pio Nono Avenue on December 23.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking into a deadly shooting at a gas station in Macon.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to the Shell gas station at 100 South Heron Street, just off Eisenhower Parkway, just after 3 p.m. Thursday after reports of a person shot.
When deputies got there, they found a man unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later identified as 27-year-old Ahmad Shahid Roberts.
Emergency crews provided aid at the scene, and Roberts was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bibb County Coroner’s Office says his family has been notified.
