UPDATE (5/27/2026) An incident report obtained by 41NBC says the victim in the Jones County family violence case told deputies she hid in the woods for hours after investigators say Michael Youngblood assaulted her inside a Gray home.

According to the report, deputies responded to a residence on Kimberly Drive around 6:15 a.m. Saturday after the victim called 911 and said Youngblood had been “terrorizing her throughout the night” and that a weapon was involved.

The report says deputies found the victim with swelling and injuries to her forehead and underneath her eye. Investigators say she told deputies Youngblood slammed her head into a wall and threatened her with a firearm.

Deputies also reported finding signs of a struggle inside the home, including holes in walls, an AR-15-style .22 caliber rifle on an upstairs bedroom floor, an empty pistol holster and a burned pillow in the yard.

The victim was later admitted to the intensive care unit, leading deputies to upgrade the charge from simple battery under the Family Violence Act to aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says Youngblood was taken into custody on Tuesday after being located by the U.S. Marshals Service. The investigation remains active.
