UPDATE: I-75 N on-ramp at Eisenhower Parkway back open after oversized load incident

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the on-ramp at I-75 North and Eisenhower Parkway is back open.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An oversized load incident blocked the Interstate 75 North on-ramp at Eisenhower Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, a call for assistance came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 1:13 p.m. Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a semi commercial vehicle on the I-75 North on-ramp.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver was traveling along the curved portion of the on-ramp when the oversized load on the flatbed partially slid off the trailer. Deputies say the driver immediately stopped the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office says no other vehicles were damaged and no injuries were reported. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division responded to investigate.
Deputies blocked the I-75 North on-ramp at Eisenhower Parkway while crews worked to clear the scene. The sheriff’s office is asking drivers to avoid Interstate 75 North and Interstate 16 from Eisenhower Parkway and use alternate northbound routes, including the Pio Nono Avenue, Rocky Creek Road and Mercer University Drive on-ramps.
