UPDATE: Woman dies after van strikes her on Houston Avenue in Macon
Deputies say the woman had been involved in a domestic disturbance with a man before a van struck her as she lay in the roadway.

UPDATE: The 42-year-old woman struck by a van while lying on Houston Avenue Wednesday night has died, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
In an update Thursday, the sheriff’s office said the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her name will be released when her family is notified.
Deputies say the woman had been involved in a domestic disturbance with a man before she was struck. The van’s driver told deputies he saw a man wearing a white shirt and dark pants standing over an object in the roadway. Witnesses said the man moved out of the road before the van struck the woman, who was lying there.
The collision remains under investigation.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 42-year-old woman is in critical condition after a van struck her as she lay in the roadway on Houston Avenue Wednesday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said it happened just before 8:11 p.m. near the intersection of Charlotte Street.
Deputies say a 69-year-old man was driving a white van when it struck the woman. Deputies made contact with the driver at the scene.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Deputies say her name will be released after her family is notified.
The collision remains under investigation.
