UPDATE: GBI releases identity of man found shot dead in Forsyth

The GBI says police in Forsyth received a 911 call around 9 a.m. "about an unknown person found dead inside their home."

UPDATE (1/6/24):  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the man found dead in Forsyth Friday as 21-year-old Rashid Khalid Ivey of Macon.

The GBI says police in Forsyth received a 911 call around 9 a.m. “about an unknown person found dead inside their home.”

Forsyth Police responded and found Ivey dead from a gunshot wound. A GBI Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Ivey’s body.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — One person is dead in Forsyth after  being found shot Friday morning.

It happened at a home on Pinkney Circle, which is just outside of the downtown square.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirms someone was killed, but no arrests have been made.
