UPDATE: GBI identifies man killed in officer-involved shooting in Warner Robins
The man has been identified as 20-year-old Mikhal Anthony Concepcion of Byron.

UPDATE (8/13/24): The man accused of opening fire on Warner Robins police officers was declared dead Monday night after being taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The man has been identified as 20-year-old Mikhal Anthony Concepcion of Byron.
The GBI is investigating the shooting. Concepcion’s body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
No officers were injured in the shooting.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Multiple Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) officers are on administrative leave while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) investigates an officer-involved shooting Monday that left a 20-year-old man hospitalized.
According to a WRPD news release, officers responded to a report of a male suspect brandishing a firearm in a front yard on N. 6th Street just after 7 p.m.
Officers say when they arrived, the suspect, who has not been identified, discharged his weapon and tried to force entry into the home. At that time, police say, multiple shots were fired by the officers and the suspect. The suspect was shot and was taken to Houston Healthcare-Watson campus. Police did not reveal the suspect’s condition or how many officers fired shots and said future updates would be provided by the GBI.
According to the release, the officers involved were placed on administrative leave, in accordance with agency policy.
“The WRPD is committed to assisting GBI in their investigations and transparency to this incident,” the release stated.
