UPDATE: Florida man charged in connection with May beating death in downtown Macon
A Florida man is in custody in Tennessee in connection with the death of Albert Kenneth Knight Jr. in May.

UPDATE (12/4/24): A Florida man is in custody in Tennessee in connection with the death of Albert Kenneth Knight Jr. in May.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office in Pulaski, Tennessee contacted Bibb County investigators this week in reference to a person of interest who was taken into custody in a homicide investigation there.
“It was reported that the person of interest indicated that they had information on a homicide that occurred in Macon-Bibb County,” the release said.
Bibb County investigators traveled to Tennessee to interview the person of interest, and after an interview, investigators determined the person of interest was 39-year-old Adam Rosenthal of Gainesville, Florida.
Warrants were served Wednesday for the Bibb County murder. Rosenthal is being held in the Giles County Sheriff’s Office on the charge of an additional murder not related to Knight’s death.
Rosenthal was a candidate for Gainesville, Florida mayor in 2022.
UPDATE (6/25/24): Late Tuesday night, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office released new photos of a man they’re looking for in connection with a death investigation.
Investigators say the suspect is wanted in connection with the murder of 59-year-old Albert Kenneth Knight.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found Knight dead in an alleyway near the intersection of Poplar Street and Second Street on May 26. They say he had been struck several times in the head.

UPDATE (6/3/24): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office released a video of a suspect wanted in connection with the death investigation of 59-year-old Albert Kenneth Knight.
Deputies say the suspect is a male with glasses, wearing a ball cap, a green shirt that possibly says “Hilton Head Island Bike Shop” in white letters, denim jeans and black shoes.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead in an alleyway near the intersection of Poplar Street and Second Street, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Deputies say the call came into the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center at 11:47 a.m. on May 26.
Deputies discovered a 59-year-old man who had been struck several times in the head until his death. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the man has been identified as Albert Kenneth Knight Jr.
This death is being investigated as a homicide.
This investigation is in its preliminary stages. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available. Knight’s body will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime lab for an autopsy.
