UPDATE: 17-year-old arrested in deadly Shurling Drive shooting

Deputies say an 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting on Shurling Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Brandon Robinson is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the death of 18-year-old Dekerrio Cobb. The shooting happened Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office says warrants were issued Wednesday for Robinson’s arrest. Investigators were later contacted by Robinson, who turned himself in just before 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Robinson was taken to the Bibb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones identified the 18-year-old killed Wednesday as De’Kerrio Jamontez Cobb.


UPDATE: Bibb County deputies have released a photo of a person of interest in connection with a deadly shooting Wednesday morning on Shurling Drive.

The sheriff’s office says the photo is from a business surveillance system.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday morning in the 1900 block of Shurling Drive.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the call came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 11:57 a.m. reporting a person had been shot.

Deputies arrived and found an 18-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Deputy Coroner LuAnn Stone pronounced him dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Coroner Leon Jones reported the shooting happened at Citgo at 1904 Shurling Drive.

The shooting remains under investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.
