Macon County Coroner Eddie Hosley says the man found dead in the Flint River on Wednesday is 21-year-old Skylar Thomas Black, who was reported missing last month.

Hosley said Black’s cause of death has not been determined, but the family has been notified about the identification.

MACON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was found dead in the Flint River on Wednesday, according to Perry Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Kirk Crumpton.

The Perry Fire Department received a mutual aid call from the Macon County Fire Department after a group of hunters saw a body in the river on January 1 around 9 a.m.

The Perry Fire Department sent eight divers to the area and recovered the body. The body was turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
