The City of Eastman says the boil water advisory will remain in place overnight into Thursday.

UPDATE (7/17 – 9 a.m.): The City of Eastman’s boil water advisory remains in effect as of Wednesday morning.
“Until further notice, we continue to be under a boil advisory in the City of Eastman,” the city stated in a Facebook update just after 8 a.m. “This means you should use bottled water or boil any water from your faucet that you intend on consuming — drinking, using for food prep, giving to your pets, brushing your teeth, etc. We will update you when we confirm the water is safe again for consumption.”
UPDATE (7/16 – 8:20 p.m.): All customers who receive water from the City of Eastman are now under a boil water advisory “effective immediately and until further notice.”
The city made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday night.
“We will keep you updated as we receive new information,” the post stated.
ORIGINAL STORY (7/16 – 3:33 p.m.):
EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A water main break on 11th Avenue on Tuesday left residents in the immediate area without water or experiencing low water pressure.
The City of Eastman shared a notice about the break on Facebook just before 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
“Unfortunately, a water main was hit on 11th Avenue,” the post stated. “For those in the immediate area, you may be without water or experience low water pressure until we have repaired the line. We are currently working on this repair and will restore your water as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding!”
