Update: Charges for owner in frozen dog death

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Bibb county Sheriff Deputies have charged Donald Mintz Jr with a cruelty to animals misdemeanor.

On November 20th, the owner of Kingston Apartments in Macon found a dead dog behind one of the residences.

Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare went to the scene and pronounced the dog dead.

After a necropsy (animal autopsy) they ruled the dog’s death due to hypothermia.

Bibb County Sheriff deputy Lt. Sean Defoe, says the dog did not have enough food in his body to produce heat.

There is a warrant for Mintz arrest.

If found guilty for the crime, a judge will decide his sentence.
