UPDATE: Body of a Lizella Man Found in Central City Park

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the body found in Central City Park early Thursday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Mark Nixon.

Jones says Nixon’s body was discovered around 8:56 am by workers from Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation. It was behind a fence near Luther Williams Field. The workers were looking at the fence for repairs.

Nixon was wearing sweatpants and had no identification on him. He was lying face down. Foul play is not suspected. His body was taken in for an autopsy.

“We turned him over. We didn’t see any visible signs of any kind of injuries, no stab wounds or gush wounds, or anything but I notified the GBI crime lab,” said Jones.

The autopsy is expected to be complete Friday morning.
